You play as Hornet instead of The Knight from Hollow Knight. Hollow Knight fans are gearing up for the possibility of some big news regarding the 2017 adventure games sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong.The first BotW is a masterpiece and my fav game of all time, with Hollow Knight as a close second. GBC/GBA coming to Switch, Dead Cells x Castlevania, Metroid Prime and of course Zelda BotW 2 were exciting though. Silksong revamps Hollow Knight's formula with a suite of new mechanics and changes: Sad (perpetually) about no Silksong release date, and there was a lot of games that I didn’t care for in the direct. They'll all be scattered in the world and in the new towns you can visit to resupply and rest as you explore Pharloom. There are also a slew of new characters to meet, all with their own little vocal traits that have become somewhat iconic for Hollow Knight NPCs. One boss battle looks like it takes place on a bed of flowers with the sun shining down, which could be a bit of a nod to the final fight in Sekiro and Bloodborne. It's a fresh take on the familiar, with Hornet dashing toward enemies and hack them apart. It opens on Hornet and immediately bursts into action. The debut trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong still sells it best. There will also be a new perma-death mode, called “Silk Soul Mode” that mimics the features of “Steel Soul Mode”, although allegedly with bigger changes from the base game of Hollow Knight: Silksong.Check out Hollow Knight: Silksong's debut trailer Unlike the original Hollow Knight’s use of soul to heal, Silksong will use silk, leaving behind a bundle of silk when dying. Throughout the game, Hornet will encounter up to 150 new enemies, and new locations across the Kingdom of Pharloom, as they climb to reach its citadel. Hollow Knight but as the story and game grew more and more ambitious, Team Cherry announced it would instead be a fully-fledged sequel. Hollow Knight: Silksong was originally intended to be DLC for the original Hollow Knight, but as the game grew both in ambition and size, it was revised into a fully-fledged sequel starring a previous antagonist, Hornet. However, Matthew Griffin’s tweet also mentions “ We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big”, suggesting Team Cherry will be increasing the map and game size from the original Hollow Knight’s approximate 41-hour runtime. Prior to the May tweet announcing its delay, the last news received was almost a full year before when the trailer dropped at Xbox & Bethesda’s Showcase. Team Cherry has been remarkably tight-lipped about the development and content of Hollow Knight: Silksong. ![]()
